GARAGE ITALIA MILANO: WHERE HERITAGE MEETS INNOVATION

(Reading time 4 minutes)

In the middle of Milan, there’s a special place called Garage Italia Milano. It used to be just a simple gas station built by Eni, a big oil company from Italy, back in the 1930s. But then, Lapo Elkann, whose grandfather was the famous Gianni Agnelli, decided to change it completely. What was once not very pretty to look at has turned into something amazing that grabs your attention with its Art Deco style. Elkann made it a mix of old and new in a cool way.

When you walk into Garage Italia Milano, it’s like walking into a world filled with car-themed art. There’s a restaurant upstairs where you can see a Ferrari 250 GTO turned into a spot for cocktails and music. You’ll also see a model of a famous race track hanging from the ceiling and special lamps made from real car exhaust pipes lighting up the place.

There’s a part of the building called the “prow” where you can find the Riva PrivĂ©es. These are cozy spots that remind you of a fancy boat, with wooden floors and blue leather, perfect for taking a break from the busy city life.

Garage Italia Milano is more than just a place to visit; it’s a place where creativity comes to life. There’s a showroom filled with model cars hanging from the ceiling that can be used for different events or art shows. And there’s a place called the Materioteca, full of all kinds of materials, where people can turn their creative ideas into something real.

If you love cars or just want to see something unique in Milan, you should definitely check out Garage Italia Milano. It’s a place that celebrates cars, creativity, and Italian style, all thanks to Lapo Elkann’s vision. It’s a reminder of how something from the past can be turned into something exciting and new.
