The Porsche 911 Sally Special, a 1 of 1 creation inspired by the Pixar film “Cars,” recently sold for $3.6 million at the RM Sotheby’s Monterey Auction, setting a record for a new Porsche. This unique car, a highly modified 992 generation 911 GTS, was designed to embody Sally Carrera, the character from the beloved animated movie.
This special edition Porsche isn’t just any car. It boasts an exclusive “Sally Blue Metallic” paint, a color crafted specifically for this model, along with unique wheels inspired by the “Turbo Twist” models of the 996 generation, the basis for Sally in the film. The attention to detail extends to the interior, adorned with chalk leather and a black, white, and blue pattern that echoes the exterior, along with Sally Blue Metallic accents on the dashboard, center console, and door trim. Even the character’s hidden tattoo is replicated under the active rear spoiler.
The car was accompanied by exclusive items like a custom-built Porsche Design Timepiece, matching the car’s unique configuration, and a set of wheels presented on a bespoke rack. The buyer also received a special car cover, a book detailing the car’s creation, and a presentation box with a swatch of the custom interior fabric.
The true significance of this sale is its charitable impact. All proceeds are going to two causes: Girls Inc., empowering young women in North America, and USA for UNHCR, supporting Ukrainian war refugees.
