WHY ALPINE STRUGGLES TO JOIN THE FORMULA 1 ELITE

(Reading time 2 minute)

Alpine, (ex Renault), is a F1 team with substantial resources and backing from a major car manufacturer. Despite having all the necessary ingredients to succeed, it has not been able to break into the elite group of Formula 1 teams like Ferrari and Mercedes.

One of the critical factors holding Alpine back is the performance of its Renault-built engine. This power deficit puts Alpine at a disadvantage on the racetrack and hampers their ability to compete at the highest level.

While Alpine has talented drivers like Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon, they do not have the same superstar status as drivers in other top teams.

Alpine has experienced frequent changes in leadership and technical directors over the years. This constant upheaval at the top levels of the team has created confusion and instability, making it challenging to establish a clear and consistent direction.
